# Outbound for enterprise sales teams: adding net-new pipeline without hiring more SDRs

How €100M+ B2B sales teams add net-new pipeline without hiring SDRs: tested offers, protected domains and meetings booked for existing reps.

*By Floris Jansen, founder of Vectify*

**Short answer:** Enterprise sales teams can add net-new pipeline without hiring more SDRs by running outbound as one system outside the team: find the message that makes cold buyers engage, send from domains that protect your main one, and hand the resulting meetings to the reps you already have. Your sales team keeps doing what it's good at: taking meetings and closing.

This page is for heads of sales at B2B companies with €100M+ revenue and an established sales team.

## The problem: good reps, not enough new conversations

Most large B2B sales teams don't lack closers. They lack new conversations with accounts that aren't already in the pipeline. Existing customers, inbound and partner deals keep reps busy, but net-new logos come in slower than the plan needs.

The usual answer is to hire SDRs. That works for some companies, but it brings recruiting, ramp time, management and turnover, and it still doesn't answer the hardest question: what do you say to a buyer who has never heard of you? We compare the two routes in [in-house SDR team vs outsourced outbound](https://www.vectify.io/blog/in-house-sdr-team-vs-outsourced-outbound).

## What the Outbound Acquisition System is

The Outbound Acquisition System is how we run outbound for enterprise sales teams. It combines cold email, LinkedIn and cold calling into one system with one message, aimed at your target accounts. It works next to your sales team, not instead of it.

It has four parts.

<h3>1. Find the message first</h3>

Before scaling anything, we run a 90-day test to find [message-market fit](https://www.vectify.io/blog/message-market-fit): the offer and phrasing that make your cold persona want to engage. We come up with many different offers and test them against comparable parts of your market. Weak ones get cut, strong ones get refined.

<h3>2. Protect your main domain</h3>

All cold email goes out from dedicated lookalike domains set up for you. Your main domain, the one your reps and customers depend on, never carries cold-sending risk.

<h3>3. Scale what works across channels</h3>

Once a message clearly lands, volume goes up and the same message carries into LinkedIn and cold calling. Email first, because it needs the least from your team and gives the clearest read. We explain the order in [cold email vs LinkedIn vs cold calling](https://www.vectify.io/blog/cold-email-vs-linkedin-vs-cold-calling).

<h3>4. Hand meetings to your reps</h3>

Interested prospects get booked into your reps' calendars. Your team takes the meetings and runs the sales process as it does today.

## What your sales team does (and doesn't do)

<table><thead><tr><th></th><th>Vectify</th><th>Your sales team</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>List building</strong></td><td>Yes</td><td>Agrees on the target accounts and persona</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Domains and inboxes</strong></td><td>Yes</td><td>No</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Offers and copy</strong></td><td>Yes</td><td>Gives input and approves</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Email, LinkedIn and calling</strong></td><td>Yes</td><td>No</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Booking meetings</strong></td><td>Yes</td><td>No</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Taking meetings and closing</strong></td><td>No</td><td>Yes</td></tr></tbody></table>

The point is that the people you already pay to sell spend their time selling, not prospecting.

## Who it fits

The system works best when three things are true.

- **Your market is big enough.** For the 90-day test, the market needs to be at least 100,000 companies. Testing many offers needs volume, and you don't want to use up your whole market on the test.
- **You're willing to change offers.** The offer that lands with a cold audience is often not the one leadership would pick. If only one message is acceptable, there's nothing to test.
- **You have a sales team that can take meetings.** The system creates conversations; your reps turn them into revenue.

It fits less well if your total market is a few hundred accounts you already know by name. In that case, account-based work by your own team is often the better route.

## What changes for the head of sales

- **More net-new conversations** without adding headcount.
- **Evidence instead of opinion** on what your market responds to. The winning messages are useful beyond outbound: for your reps' talk tracks, your website and your campaigns.
- **Less risk to your main domain**, because cold sending happens elsewhere.
- **One system instead of three**, so email, LinkedIn and calling say the same thing to the same accounts.

We work with one client per product category per country, so we're never running outbound for your direct competitor in the same market.

## Where to start

The first step is knowing how big your untapped market is. Our free **Untapped Market Report** estimates how many potential buyers you're not reaching yet, built for your company.

## FAQ

<h3>How can an enterprise sales team add pipeline without hiring SDRs?</h3>

Run outbound as a system outside the team: test offers to find the message that makes cold buyers engage, send from dedicated domains, and book the resulting meetings into your existing reps' calendars.

<h3>What is the Outbound Acquisition System?</h3>

It's Vectify's way of running outbound: cold email, LinkedIn and cold calling as one system with one message. It starts with a 90-day test to find message-market fit, then scales the winning message across channels.

<h3>What does our sales team need to do?</h3>

Agree on the target accounts and persona, give input on offers, and take the meetings. Everything else, from list building and domains to copy, sending and booking, is handled for you.

<h3>How big does our market need to be?</h3>

For the 90-day message-market fit test, the market needs to be at least 100,000 companies.

<h3>Does cold outreach put our company domain at risk?</h3>

Not if it's set up properly. Cold email should go out from dedicated lookalike domains, so your main domain is never used for cold sending.
